Backstory
First of all, please call me Jess. Now, let's get to it, shall we? I've always had a bit of an obsession when it came to animals, if I'm being honest. Even back before I knew anything of magic, I was always enthusiastic when it came to dogs, cats, reptiles, and the like. Then of course there came the day that I awoke to find the small, diamond ring my mother had given me to have (seemingly) disappeared into thin air! I spent hours looking for it, and just as I was about to give up, I spotted a small, furry black creature stuffing one of my necklaces into a pouch on its stomach. A Niffler. This was the first time I came into contact with the magical world, but it would not be my last. The event seemed to trigger the magic that I had always had inside of me, and from that day forth I was officially a witch. I received my acceptance letter, and merely a few days after arriving at school I discovered my relation to the Scamander family, the very same one which brought forth the famous Newt Scamander. This discovery led to my increasing love of creatures and passion to protect them. I am now, and forever will be, a proud magizoologist, travelling the world when I can, accompanied only by my Niffler, Pete, and my broomstick (I became rather fond of Quidditch during my time in England, and am pretty damn good at playing Seeker, if I do say so myself). I try to help others as much as I can, and have made a bit of a name for myself when it comes to the topic of those who are born into difficult or taboo circumstances (both magic and non-magic), as well as those who are born with very slight magical capabilities, doing my best to give them a place within the wizarding world and to help them feel accepted among their people (since I, being born to two non-magic parents, was put through a fair amount of trials upon entering the world of magic). When I'm not busy with all the aforementioned things, you can often find me at my bakery in London, co-owned by my Uncle Adrian, where I will be more than happy to engage in a nice, lively conversation and share some shortbread and tea with you!
