****11/27/2016 UPDATE: Student Lounge Edition is currently under construction and posted as a separate book! This edition will no longer be updated, as Club functionality has returned to the main site and an official version is available under the tab "Groups & Roleplays". Apologies for the inconvenience.**** This is a comprehensive catalogue of all the clubs currently here at Hogwarts. Clubs are organized into chapters based on what category they fall into. Don't see your club anywhere in the catalogue, or noticed that something is wrong? Want your club removed from the catalogue for whatever reason? Please owl the editor! This catalogue will be updated monthly, at a minimum, to ensure that all clubs are properly catalogued and students are able to find the clubs that best suit their interests. Please spread the word and share this catalogue with your fellow students! How To Use
There are currently 308/309 clubs uploaded to the catalogue, as of April 5th, 2015.
Editor's Note: With that many clubs currently active on HiH, it's no wonder that it's hard to find the right one for you! I was frustrated by how hard it was to find clubs that I was interested in at HiH, and at how many duplicate threads were being made across the various forums. I have scoured through the entirety of the Introduction, Welcome, Inter-House, and individual House forums, and reached out through the various feeds, but it was only with your help, reader, that I've been able to find and upload all these clubs. Thank you so much for sending me your clubs to add to the catalogue! Now that they're here, and you're here, let me break down the way this has been set up (or skip ahead to a chapter that strikes your fancy).
The Break Down:
I based the format of this catalogue on the Extra-Curricular Catalogue I had received during orientation day my freshman year of Muggle university. Each chapter lists clubs of a certain type or that have a similar focus. That way, if people want to join a club based around a spoken or favorite language, or find tutoring help for Transfiguration, all the options are easy to find. At the top of each chapter is the Update Status, which will be bolded and lets you know when the last time I added clubs was, and how many clubs are in the chapter as of that time. Right below that, you'll find a description of the chapter category or type.
Clubs that don't fit anywhere else end up in the Miscellaneous Clubs chapter. New chapters will be added when there are 5 or more clubs of that type to be listed.
All club numbers have been verified by the editor, and there will be a link to the club leader/founder who can answer any additional questions you may have about their club before you join.
An Important Note to Remember:
The description for each club is assembled based on information posted to the club page and any promotional posts found in the forums. Clubs may not "submit descriptions" to be added to the catalogue; there is a format to these descriptions and I have tried to keep them brief (some of the clubs do not make that easy), but they may amend the descriptions at any time by owling the editor.
The exception to this rule is reserved for Language Clubs only. I am fluent only in English, and it would be a disservice to the students in those clubs if I were to just shove their club page descriptions through Google Translate when I carefully look over thread posts and club descriptions for all the English-language speaking clubs to create accurate and informative descriptions.
If you ever have any questions, comments, concerns, or corrections to this catalogue, please do not hesitate to owl me. If you do not wish for your club to be placed in the catalogue, it will be removed and the number saved so that I do not accidentally re-post you.
