Chapter 4
Harry Apparated back to the Burrow, to a congratulated crowd. The day had gone from Christmas to a Victory. It was like Harry defeated Voldemort all over again. Harry saw Hermione and Ron, pouring firewhiskey and butterbeer into cups. Hermione looked over and saw Harry. She dropped the glass cup of butterbeer, and ran at him.
“Harry! You’re alright!” She said, tears streaming down her face.
“Ginny told us everything! Everything!” She said, wiping her tears on her sweater’s sleeve. Harry hugged her. “
Loads of it, I believe, were rubbish,” said Ron. Harry laughed. Hermione ran into a different room, and came back with Ginny. Ginny ran at Harry. She hugged him tightly,
“You’re alright!” She said joyfully. Harry nodded. He hugged her tightly.
“I am, I guess,” He said sarcastically. Ginny laughed.
“I — er,” Ginny said nervously. She pulled up her sleeve. On her fist, there was an imprint. I must not tell lies. Harry’s mouth dropped. His smile was no longer visible.
“Before you arrived, she made me write it,” Ginny said. Harry gasped.
“Hermione?” He asked weakly, turning to face her. Hermione shook her head.
“We’ve tried,” She answered.
“Nothing works,” Harry frowned. Hermione took her beaded bag.
“Except there is one,” Harry sat up.
“What is it?” he asked.
“It’s — mad,” said Ron, reading Hermione’s mind.
“Episkey!” Hermione said, pointing her wand at Ginny’s hand. It began bleeding more. “
Oh Ginny! I’m sorry!” Hermione weeped.
“Ah!”Ginny said.
“Phoenix tears,” Harry muttered.
“Accio Fawkes!” Harry said, grabbing Hermione’s wand.
Fawkes came zooming in through the window. Fawkes sat on Ginny's shoulder. It shed one tear, and the mark disappeared. Fawkes flew to Harry, and cried another tear, making Harry’s mark disappear. Harry looked down at his hand in shock.
“Whoa,” He muttered. Fawkes flew away and out of sight. Harry had almost totally forgotten about the proposal. He quickly took Ron by the wrist, and dragged him up into their bedroom.
“When do ya reckon I should do it?” Harry said, the moment the door clicked closed. Ron’s face looked curious.
“Do what, mate?” He asked. Harry took a deep breath.
“Propose to your sister, you idiot,” said Harry sarcastically.
“Oh, yeah!” Ron said, catching on.
“Well, the Holyhead Harpies are playing in London in a week,” Ron suggested. Harry nodded.
“Yeah, I should do it there?” he asked. Ron nodded.
“After the game for a date!” Hermione said after Harry and Ron brought her into their bedroom. She was sitting on the floor; Ron on his bed, and Harry on a beanbag chair. “I thought of that!” Harry said. Ron looked excited.
“You could rent a tent for the night like what we did at the Quidditch World Cup, ‘member?” said Ron. Harry nodded, grinning.
“How long will the game be?” Harry asked suddenly.
“Dunno,” said Ron.
“They can go on for months,” Hermione said. Harry’s grin faded. Then it went back upon his face.
“I can’t pay for a year's worth of a Quidditch Game!” Hermione and Ron laughed.
“It’s female, so it can only go on for up to several hours, I believe,” Hermione said, taking a book from her bag. Ron nodded, grabbing Hermione's book.
“You said you’d cut your reading time!” Ron said. Hermione looked apologetic.
“I did, Ronald, just I’ve been meaning to get a move on with this book —,” Ron stood up from the bed.
“Harry is seeing visions of Delphini, wanting to propose to Ginny, and all you're doing is looking up —,” Ron looked at the front cover of the book, then sat back down again.
“Ways to stop cursed scars,” Ron took her bag, and pulled out another book.
“Good ways to Propose,” Ron sighed. Hermione raised her eyebrows.
“Are you going to apologize?” She said. Ron sighed again.
“Sorry,” He said bitterly. Harry looked at Hermione, then at Ron.
“I — er,” Harry didn’t know how to tell them.
“I casted Legimens at Delphini,” He blurted. Ron and Hermione’s faces soon stared at Harry.
“You did Legilimency?” Ron cleared up.
“Yeah, I think. I saw —,” He paused. He looked back at Hermione, who was looking hard at him.
“What?!” She said,
“Delphini, Bellatrix, and Rodophlus.” Harry said firmly.
“Delphini when she was two years old,” Harry added. Harry retold everything he heard. Ron looked Stunned, and Hermione looked ready to tell someone.
“Harry, you need to tell Mr. and Mrs. Weasley,” She said quickly. Harry knew she’d say this.
“Alright, you reckon I should tell the whole family?” He demanded suddenly. Hermione shook her head. Ron stood up from his bed again.
“Remember earlier this morning? When it was Christmas Eve!” He said, opening the door.
“Right,” said Harry, running out of the door. Hermione and Ron followed him down the stairs. Harry reached the kitchen, and immediately started talking.
“Mr. and Mrs. Weasley?” He asked. Mrs. Weasley busted her way through the dining room.
“Yes, Harry, dear?” she said kindly.
“Er,” He started, but Victorie ran in.
“Mummy said you’ve just finished dinner,” She said to Mrs. Weasley.
“Why, yes, dear, I have!” Mrs. Weasley said excitedly.
“Thank You, Grandma!” said Victorie, and bustled out of the kitchen.
Mr. Weasley just approached Harry.
“Harry, I’ve been listening to you upstairs,” He whispered.
“How?” Harry whispered back.
“Fred and George’s Extendable Ears,” He whispered, loud enough for Mrs. Weasley to hear.
“I thought I burned those!” She said furiously. She slammed the cabinet drawer shut, then marched up the staircase. Mr. Weasley looked anxious.
“You’ve been taking Marcais Mais, I’ve heard,” He whispered. Harry nodded.
“That can help, but not everything,” Mr. Weasley said, then went upstairs to find his wife.
Harry looked confused. He would run back up the stairs to Ron and Hermione, but he figured it would be awkward, so he took his wand out, and Apparated to Ron’s bedroom. He appeared in the center of the floor.
“Harry!” Hermione cried. “How’d it go?”
Harry seemed not to be listening to her.
“Ron, wanna go play in the orchard? Some three on three? Ginny, Bill, Charlie, and George would wanna play,”
Ron nodded. “Let me get my Cleansweep!” He said excitedly, opening a dark, wooden chest, throwing things out of it to find his broomstick. Harry raised his wand.
“Accio Firebolt!” he said. His Firebolt zoomed towards him.
Hermione looked a little taken aback. “Is that all a boy thinks about?” She demanded. Harry looked up at her.
“Well,” He was cut off.
“Quidditch!?” she added, furiously.
“No,” Harry lied.
“Well, at least my happiness doesn’t depend on Ron’s goalkeeping ability,” She said.
Harry would much rather jump out of Ron’s bedroom window then admit it to her, but plunge back into his beanbag.
“Ginny!” Harry yelled suddenly. The bedroom door opened.
“Yeah?” Ginny asked Harry.
“Want to play in the orchard?” he asked.
“Oh! You’re on, Potter!” She said, pulling Harry to his feet. Harry smiled, then followed her out of the bedroom. Ron shrugged at Hermione, then followed him. Hermione stood up, and she followed him out. Maybe she wanted to watch the match.
