Well Done, Bella
Chapter 5
Bella ran right into the branch, and she tried to clutch onto it. The broom kept going forward, none stop, until it bounced down on a wall. Bella tried to hold on without looking down. She was about fifty feet in the air, and no way down. Harry was trying to make his way over to her to get her on his broom, but Bella was loosing grip. She tried to regrip herself, but that sent her crashing down. "Bella!" Hermione shreiked. Harry tried to stop her fall, but missed. "Damnit," Harry shouted. He returned to the ground. Hermione, Ginny, Ron, Maizy, and Harry were running towards her. Bella felt an incresingly large pain in her foot. It burned, and it hurt misserably. "Did you hurt yourself?" Hermione asked. "My foot," Bella panted, holding back tears. "Try to stand," Maizy said. Bella stood up, and as she put pressure on her right foot, she immediantly shook her head. "I can't," Bella said. "Let's get you to Madame Promfrey," Harry said. "Keep the foot elevated," Ron suggested. "Can you walk?" Harry asked. Bella tried to walk, and then ultimately failed, by falling to the ground again. "I'll carry you," Harry muttered, rolling his eyes. "Let me use an X-ray spell to see if anything broken," Hermione said. "Radiographema," Hermione muttered, pointing her wand at Bella's foot. "It's broken alright. It's getting worse," Hermione said. "Frick!" Bella cried, wincing in pain. Harry picked her up, and they began walking to the hospital. Harry was getting more and more nervous everytime Bella would say "ouch,". It was growing stronger each time, which meant it was hurting more. Madame Promfrey put her in a hospital bed, and examined her foot. "This isn't some regular breaking of the bones. This is way serious than I thought. More serious than magical can master," She said. "Can't we do it the Muggle way?" Hermione asked. "Refresher?" Madame Promfrey asked her. "Instead of using a potion that you said wouldn't even cure it, why don't we bandage it? She can use crutches, which I can get from my family. They have a few extra. Then when it's healed, but not enough for it to be without anything, you could use a 'Boot' which protects it from getting hurt again," Hermione said smartly. "That just might work," Madame Promfrey said. Madame Promfrey was a Half Blood, so she knew a thing or two about surguries, but just needed a little refresher, because it's been awhile since she worked for the Muggle Hospital. Only one person could stay with Bella while she performed the surgery, so Harry volunteered too. Harry wanted to make it up to Bella for being so awful to her the first time they met, so he was devoted to it. He had noticed how strong Bella was. She never cried during the surgery, just winced a few times, and squinnted her eyes. Everytime she did this, she would squeeze his hand, which he had there for comfort. When it was over, Madame Promfrey tied the bandaging around her foot, and exited the room. "How did you do it?" Harry asked, letting go of Bella's hand. "Most of it was inner strength, and most of it was having you there with me," Bella said truthfully. "Well, i'm glad I could help," Harry said with a smile. Bella smiled back, and looked at him for awhile. "What?" He asked after awhile, in a soft gentle voice. "You aren't anything like I thought you'd be," Bella said. "What does that mean?" Harry asked in the same tone. "I thought you would have a temper most of the time. I thought you wouldn't like me. You do like me, right?" Bella answered. "Well, it's wrong of you to assume. But I do. I do like you," Harry said back. "As a friend," He added quickly. "Yeah, as a friend," Bella said fast. "I had fun with you, today," Harry said. "Me too," Bella said. "You should come over every weekend," Harry suggested. "As long as I don't have other plans," Bella answered. "You're plan will be to see me," Harry smiled at her. "Not just you. Ginny and Hermione as well," Bella said to him. He laughed. "You could come see me too," Bella added. "Oh yeah, like they'd let me in," Harry laughed. "They would. You're 'Harry Potter'," Bella mimicked. Harry snorted. "It's not always the greatest feeling," Harry said. Bella grinned. "I really hope we'll be friends," Harry said. "Me too," Bella asked. She wanted to add 'Or something more,' but she knew Harry didn't feel that way. The door banged open, and Ginny and Hermione were sprinting at Bella. "Are you alright?" Ginny asked. Hermione pulled crutches out from her arms. "You're new legs," Hermione said in a funny voice. Bella laughed. She have Harry a side eye, which he didn't return. He was dozed off, and Bella imagined he must be tired. The door opened again, and Maizy came in. "Bella, are you alright?" Maizy asked her. "I'll live. I don't know what happened," Bella said to her. She then turned her head to Harry. "Harry, you should get some rest," Bella suggested. Hermione nodded, taking a seat. "Seriously. I'll stay with her tonight. Unless, she wants to be alone?" Maizy asked. "I want to be anything but alone. Hermione, Ginny, could you guys stay too?" Bella asked. "Of course," Hermione answered. Ginny nodded. "Why can't I stay?" Harry asked. "Because you need to sleep," Ginny chimed in. "You guys need sleep too!" Harry said matter-of-factly. "We don't have Quidditch Tryouts at 5:45 A.M," Hermione said. "I do," Ginny said. "Oh. Then why don't you go to bed too, then?" Hermione said. Ginny groaned. "I don't want to leave," Harry said. "Fine. You can stay until I say you need to go. If you are sleeping here tonight, and you can't sleep, you're going back," Bella said. "Deal," Harry said. So Ginny and Maizy left, after Bella finally conviced them out. Hermione asked Madame Promfrey if they could use the beds beside Bella, and she answered with a cold 'No,'. Hermione brought a few pillows and blankets from the Common Room up to the Wing for comfort. "Harry, Hermione, you seriously don't have to do this," Bella said. "You can leave. I'll be fine," She added. "You said you didn't want to be alone," Harry said. "I lied," Bella groaned. "Bella, if you go to sleep, you won't even know we're here," Hermione pointed out. "But it's weird having people watching you sleep," Bella complained. "We won't judge," Harry joked. Bella glared at him. "Very funny," She said sarcastically. "Bella. You're being let out tomorrow, get some rest," Hermione said. And with that, Bella fell into a deep sleep.
