Chapter 6
Maxwell has been quite innocent, and I can’t find anything that is suspicious about him. However, you never know, he might be the murderer. The information we had was:
Willow’s father, Maxwell, works in a publishing office and is about to publish a book called ‘A murder on Monday’ which does relate to this.
Maxwell won’t let us see his story (he might just be keeping it for a surprise but it is something).
That’s all we know about him, so it was time to go to his room. Now, this room meant something, something big.
We looked through his drawers and cupboards, nothing. But there was something under his bed, the scarf that Willow bought for his birthday. Not any scarf, a scarf covered in blood.
As soon as Willow saw this, she gasped,”Jade, are you seeing this. H-h-his scarf, b-b-blood.”
I have never seen her stammering before, so replied,”Willow, we are never scared. You're right, this is proof. We must add it.”
She nodded, then kept looking around the room. Something even more shocking, in an opened safe, right at the back of his drawer, stood a piece of paper. It said:
Noah, Monday, Gone
Tears welled up in her eyes, she began to cry. I was shocked, Willow never cried before but this was her father, who might’ve been the murderer. I would also be crying if my father was a murderer. I put my arm around her and said, “Maybe he is not the murderer.”
Willow was not so sure, we had so much proof already, but she felt better. We could not see anything more, so we went out just in time because her father was only a few metres away. We got out without him noticing me. We didn’t want to stay with one person for a very long time, so we carried on to the next. Next, Ava Jones, if you guys didn’t know, she is Willow’s mother. We had to distract her in some way, so I said to Ava,”Hello Mrs Jones, I’m terribly sorry for your loss. I don’t know if it’s the right time now, but can I show you the beauty of my room,”
She replied,”Thank you Jade, of course you may show me. Lead the way!!”
I winked at Willow, and she ran to her mother’s room.
Willow:
The smell was of expensive perfume, which led me to the right place. In her special box was a perfume and some rich shoes. This didn’t seem like anything and nothing else was in the room. Looks like she doesn’t need to be on the murder list.
Jade:
So that was what Willow told me after she came out. I snatched a piece of paper from my drawer and wrote down our three suspects.
Emily Jones
Motive: Found texting someone anonymous and used morse code. Morse code meant:Monday, blood. She could’ve been working with someone else to murder Noah.
Maxwell Jones: Found his scarf covered in blood under his bed. This could mean he was wearing the scarf at the time of the murder. Also, a note saying ‘Noah. Monday, Gone’ at the back of his drawer, well hidden. He is also writing a book called ‘A murder on Monday’.
Ava Jones:Not yet.
