By nature, the Hippogriffs of the wizarding world are very proud and noble creatures. They will react quickly and decisively to anyone foolish enough to insult them but they will respond favorably to those with good manners. Hippogriffs are loyal to those who gain their trust, but they are well able to look after themselves and definently not reliant on humans.
