lethe river water
- named after lethe river in greek mythology
- those who died drank the water to forget about their past lives
- actually, it comes from the Kaybetti river in the town of Oren (Turkey)
- acts as powerful memory suppresent
- when consumed at high dosage, might make the body's organ systems forget how to function leading to coma or death
- molecularly appears to be same to regular water
- water lacks any fungi or bacteria that might explain the characteristics
- one of the clearest rivers in the world
- two theories as to how it became a memory suppressent:
- a very powerful witch/wizard charmed the very source of the river
- it is possible it involved some permanent charm restructuring the particles at the river's source
- some sort of magical fungus or plant lives at the source
- water passes over it--> gets imbued with forgetfulness magic
- as it comes down, all the traces of the plant is removed
- does not change structure, but is just a residue
- a very powerful witch/wizard charmed the very source of the river
- no one has ever reached the source of the river
- some beings may have, but the powerful forgetfulness magic has wiped their memory
