Charlotte

I sat in the buggy as Mother argued with Mr. Turner. I rested an elbow on the door and my head on my hand. I heard a knock on the buggy's door, so I looked over the edge to find who it was. There was Edmund with a small bandage on his nose and a big smile on his face. 

“Wow, you can hit!” Edmund said in glee. 

“What are you doing here?” I asked in a whisper. “You're supposed to be in the nursing wing.” 

“That's not what matters. I didn’t want to worry you with my father's and your mother's arguments. The wedding is still on!”  

“It is?” 

“Yes! I came here to invite you over again some time. Lewis has taken a liking to your sister, and I feel like we should get to know each other before the wedding!”  

“Of course,” I agreed. “Send me a note of when. Now, go or you’ll get me in trouble!” Edmund turned around and rushed towards the mansion. Mother got into the buggy and we set off to our house. The second we got there, me and Rose rushed upstairs and began removing our corsets.  

“I’ve never felt so amazing in my life. I can finally breathe!” Rose said happily. “I’m never wearing that thing ever again!” 

“Yes, you are Rose. We have another visit planned for next week,” Mother said as she entered the room.  

“We do?!” Rose complained. 

“Yes, that visit is for both of you. Then, Charlotte has one tomorrow all by herself!”
