Lesson 8) Spellcasting Summary
Chapter 8
- Spell creation starts with identifying a problem that needs solving
- Spells are created based on specific needs, like lighting a fire or fixing an object
- The first step in spell creation is figuring out what the spell will do
- Components of a spell include incantation, spell components, willpower, and concentration
- Latin is the recommended language for incantations
- Willpower makes the spell happen, while concentration ensures it happens correctly
- Experimental charms should be tested by professionals to avoid dangerous consequences
- Learning two new charms: Warming Charm and Chilling Charm
- Created by Arameus Szareko to help refine concentration
- Warming Charm: gentle warming sensation, concentration on target and feeling of hot air, longer concentration = better results
- Chilling Charm: produces a chill, concentration on target and feeling of cold air, longer concentration = lower temperature
- Practice charms on the liquid provided, turning it bright green (Warming Charm) or deep purple (Chilling Charm)
