I come from a long line of magical folks in America. It was not until my tenth birthday that we up and moved to Britain for my father's new job. He cares for magical creatures around the world, and is doing a study in the United Kingdom. So much for Ilvermorny. I just got my letter from Hogwarts. Somehow, it was even cooler than getting my Ilvermorny letter would have been! I always knew I would get a letter, but when it came, I got this feeling of being in an alternate reality, ya know?
Diagon Alley was amazing. The best part was getting a wand. I've always found wandlore to be SO interesting. In fact, I picked up an extra book about it at Flourish and Blotts.
Getting to Hogwarts and being sorted (Ravenclaw pride!) was awesome. The Sorting Hat blew my mind! It was an incredible, inventive way to sort kids, and I must say that my respect for Godric Gryffindor grew a bit.
