Backstory
Elara was given up as a baby, her parents two struggling half-bloods that were not ready for a child. Everything changed for the girl the day that she was chosen by her father. He had saved her from a life of solitude in orphanages, and she had saved him from a life of depression. Elara then grew up around love. Her world became worn, frazzled jumpers, candlelit evenings, and the sounds of Bowie and The Beatles playing in the background as she learned how to read.
She was always a thoughtful girl, always managing to notice the small details that others would let slip by. She was so much like her father - intelligent, observant and thoughtful. She understood things that nobody else did, and she made a vow to herself as a little girl that she would never allow anyone to feel excluded the way her father felt in the stories of his childhood he would tell her.
The day that Elara was sorted into Hufflepuff house felt like a natural extension of who she already was to her. Her values of kindness, loyalty and fairness above all, as well as always seeing the best in everyone. She always seems to drift easily between different friend groups, never seeing house divisions as something that should define a person.
