Backstory
Growing up in a half-blood family, I was caught between the magic of the wizarding world and the scientific research in the Muggle world. I had always been curious about how things worked, and the mechanisms of magic fascinated me from a young age. I graduated with what I considered mediocre NEWTS, but I've been told I'm too hard on myself and other people seemed impressed, so you can make your own judgement. I worked as an apprentice to Mr Ollivander in his Diagon Alley shop, quite happily too. I adored working with, making and experimenting with wands, still filled with my childish curiosity. I was spotted by a wizard from the Department of Mysteries, looking to set up a research subdepartment, and I began my Ministerial life, and I have loved every moment.
