📜 Lumos Letters 2025: Edition 2

Another week brings more beautiful letters of appreciation and friendship. Our hearts are warmed by the good intentioned messages and the wonderful people who have sent them. Unfortunately, some letters were found unfit to publish for one reason or another, so if you found that your letter did not make this edition of the Lumos Letters, please view the important notes below. Remember that all letters must be in English and must adhere to our Code of Conduct. We hope to continue to receive more beautiful letters over the next three weeks of November.

If a letter is addressed to you but you are uncomfortable with it, please immediately send a message to Professor Fayge to have it removed, no questions asked.
If you do not see your Lumos Letter or have any questions about the guidelines for this event, please contact any of the following members of the HiH Activity Team: Professor Fayge, Professor Montclam, or Madam Ambrose.

I am dedicating this letter to my friends, Hermione, Ginny, Harry and Ron. You guys have made my years at Hogwarts better than any other time in my life. The amount of joy and security you bring me is unexplainable, i am beyond grateful to have you guys as friends and people whom I can turn to when I need it most. I am lucky to have someone who I automatically know that is always there for me, and even luckier to have a group of you guys. Nothing is more fun than sharing a dorm with you guys, the laughing at night because we can't fall asleep even though we are exhausted, or helping eachother with school work even though we have no clue what we are doing. To be able to share everything with you guys, laughter, joy, crying, secrets, stories, memories.. I truly don't know what I would do at Hogwarts without you. You make Hogwarts feel like home, you complete it. I could write a billion words for how grateful I am for you guys, but it mights get annoying. Anyways, I just want you guys to know that I love you and I cant wait to spend plenty more days and nights with you!
To the old Hogwarts Monthly News team and all past members:
I'm really sorry about the sudden shutting down of our magazine, but I think it's for the better. Not a lot of people are on HiH anymore, and that's fine - prioritising your real life over your online one is good! But it means that HMN can't continue anymore.
Thank you so much for all of your help and contributions into crafting our issues, 1-15 (heh... haven't published the 15th one yet, whoops, it'll take a while because of the queue in the library I thinkishhh...?), and using up your precious time working for a magazine that doesn't even pay you real money (you're so awesome, so seriously, thank you).
Once again, thank you so so so so so so much to Ellie Potter, Ross Geary, Michael I, Autumn Edelstein, Sara Rowan, Ivy Dewdrop, Marlee Potter, Daphne Clarke, Alannah V, our original founder Sienna Lockwood, as well as all past members for everything they did for HMN!

Thank you for all the hard work you’ve done to make Discordian Castle a fantastic place for everyone to meet each other! HiH has become so lively now, and we have you to thank because of it. Your dedication and determination to improve the site does not go unnoticed. You always keep us informed about the site’s many nargle infestations and you make an effort to be transparent with us. And you always have something up your sleeve when it comes to giving us the best experience possible in the Discordian Castle. You've been the best mentor for us.

Where do I even start with you? You do so much for the HiH community. You are often a new student's first friend due to your kindness and willingness to show people the ropes. I often wish I was as openly friendly as you. I view you as the Unofficial Bookkeeper of Hogwarts due to your dedication to making sure The Spreadsheet is always up to date with oodles of information that I would have never even considered keeping track of. I also admire your dedication to keeping the monthly HPC afloat. I know that if it weren't for you, many of the participants wouldn't even know about it (myself included). Thank you for all that you do, Mario! Keep on shining.

Maybe you're scared of more people leaving.
You deserve love and support, whoever you are. It doesn't matter if you're hurting or if you're the one hurting others...
You.
Are.
Loved.
You're loved, you really are. You have a place in this world. Seek help, don't hurt others, don't hurt yourself, and don't give up - life is awesome, keep trying! Keep living! You got this!
It will get better. Don't give in. Life is hard, but it WILL get better. All your hard work will pay off in time.

What are “Lumos Letters”?
Each week of November, we will publish a collection of appreciation letters in a special series of articles in the HiH Newsroom. You can write to staff, classmates, groups, or anyone who has made your HiH experience magical. You are not limited to just one; feel free to write as many letters as you like!
How to Send Your Letter
Simply fill out this form with your letter (short or long!) and who you’d like it addressed to. You may include your name or choose to remain anonymous. Only submit one letter at a time; fill out a separate form for each letter you write. All letters must be appropriate and follow our Code of Conduct. We will take care of the rest!
Be sure to submit your letters before November 30th, when our last Lumos Letters article will be posted.
