23 November, 2025

Our second-to-last issue of the "Lumos Letters" has brought some heartwarming letters! It has been lovely to see both professors and students submit notes of thanks over this period. Heading into our last week of November, please remember that all letters must be in English and must adhere to our Code of Conduct. We hope to end our final edition of "Lumos Letters" on a high!

~ HiH Activities Team

To Helen,

The Hut has been so much livelier since you stepped in! It's in fact so lively that I caught a little Niffler that snuck its way into the Dungeons the other day. Don't worry, he was rather easy to capture once he was desperately trying to stuff a shiny chain into his pouch - he couldn't figure out it was attached to the wall. All jokes aside, it's been so lovely to see you settle in and grow as a professor and I'm so happy to support you in that growth! I can't wait to see all the great things you will do in the future!

- Serafina

To Professor Fayge,

Thank you for all of your hard work being a professor, dealing with students, and helping Professor Laurel with the Lumos Letters! Thank you!

Dear Inarid,

I always enjoy our talks and getting to spend time with you in between teaching! You have been an incredible addition to our staff since you have been here and work so diligently to make sure every student feel welcome. Never stop being you!

- Serafina

P.S. You should consider stopping by the Alchemy Laboratory more often. Those stairs to the Divination Tower can be brutal.

To my wonderful Fliers

Thank you for all that you do and I'm so glad that you are on the Fly team.

Madam Fox

Inarid,

You were right, I should have accepted your offer to help me pack. Just realised that I left my new dragonhide boots in the closet. I suppose I'll have to buy new ones now. Anyway, I wanted to thank you for both your friendship and all you do for our beloved Hogwarts. It has been an absolute joy to work with you again in new and exciting ways (and safer contexts to be sure). I'll be heading for Romania next, but I met an interesting man that was telling me about the divinatory practices in Egypt (my following stop). Something about a "pแธฅ-nแนฏr oracle"? Perhaps I'll bring you home a souvenir.

~ Lavinia

To Kayleigh Fawn a Hufflepuff.

I know we haven't talked a lot but I looked through your profile and noticed we have a lot of shared likes! I also noticed that we follow each other!

~ Loralei Thompson

To the Esteemed Members of Hufflepuff House,

I am writing this letter to express my deepest gratitude for the values you all embody and share with the world. I want to thank you (my friends and obviously my teachers) for your loyalty. This loyalty is a rare and beautiful thing. But above all, I appreciate your genuine kindness and belief in fair play and justice. This welcoming and inclusive spirit makes the world a warmer, brighter place, much like our cozy common room. Thank you for being the quiet guides and unsung heroes. Your presence, dedication, and generous love do not go unnoticed. You are loved, immensely and unconditionally, for exactly who you are.

With utmost appreciation,

To the ever-so daring Daiyu,

It is a joy to work with you! I enjoy bouncing ideas off of you and it always feels like we are on the same page. You have helped me so much since you have arrived at the castle and I can't thank you enough for your support. Outside of work, I enjoy when we talk over Chinese snacks. It makes me reminisce about my time studying and researching in Nanjing. Perhaps one day I'll bring some snacks from Sweden to share. Your fellow colleague up-to-no good,

Serafina

To Everyone-

Hi! My name is Rosalyn, and I love this website. This community is amazing, and I absolutely love the classes. Everything here has been so much fun, including dorms, groups, writing a book, taking classes, making friends, and more. I can’t wait to see what adventures this school may bring me, or what I may bring it! I can’t wait for the rest of my first year and beyond.

 -Rosalyn Willows

To Cassandra Graves,

Hi You are such a great witch. From Max Scamander

Professor Laurel,

I hope all is well with your sabbatical, I can't wait to hear all about your research! I just wanted to pop by and say thank you for all you do for the activities team. Your magic truly "shines" through our team!

Magically,

Professor Montclam

Leah Miller,

Thank you for working so hard to grade the Care of Magical Creatures queue with me! I know that it can be hard as the only active grader, so I truly appreciate all you do for our students, and how you keep in touch with me in regards to pressing matters.

Magically,
Professor Montclam

Madam Ambrose,

It is so nice to have a second librarian around the castle! You have also been an excellent addition to our activities team, always keen to help out and offer your ideas. I look forward to getting to know you more in the future!

Magically,
Professor Montclam.

Professor Ellsworth and Professor Sorelle,

You have both been an excellent addition to the Hogwarts staff team! It has been so nice getting to know you both. I can't wait to see what is in store for your individual courses.

Magically,
Professor Montclam.

Professor Valeris,

Thank you so much for stepping in to help while Professor Laurel is on leave. It means a lot that you are willing to continue with the Charms team even after your most recent promotion to HoM Professor! (Congratulations again!) It's been a pleasure getting to know you behind-the-scenes, and I'm very grateful for your presence here.

With thanks,

Britini A. S.

Lumos Legends,

I hope you are all proud of yourselves! Charms is both a popular and required course, so the fact that you manage grading and owls so wonderfully speaks to your capabilities as a team. Thank you for coming to the Lumos Legends chat with your questions so that the whole team may benefit from the answers, thank you for following the rubrics closely, thank you for accepting constructive feedback, and thank you for your communication and dedication. It's an honor to work alongside you! (And wow, look at those empty queues! ๐ŸŽ‰)

With thanks,

Your HS Britini A. S.

To Cassandra Graves

You are the most quietly beautiful girl I’ve ever known. Anything with you can turn into an adventure. Being around you makes everything feel warmer and more meaningful. You always have this way of turning even an ordinary day into something exciting and something that feels worth remembering.

From Arthur Blackwater

Professor Laurel,

I can't thank you enough for the mentorship you have provided me! The Charms team is doing so well under your guidance and I am incredibly honored to be part of the magic. Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to serve as HS, for being patient with my school schedule, and for all of your wonderful feedback.

With gratitude,

Your HS Britini A. S.

To Professor Rosenquist

Thank you for letting me be HS for Alchemy it’s been awesome. Also thank you for teaching me everything that I need to know as well you are an amazing person.

Love Elizabeth
