Backstory
My name is Kevin Anderson, and I work at Wigan Tree Services. We specialize in professional tree care, pruning, and removal services for homeowners, businesses, and local councils across Wigan and nearby areas. I’m proud to be part of a hardworking team that’s passionate about trees and dedicated to keeping landscapes safe, healthy, and looking their best.
At Wigan Tree Services, I take care of a number of things behind the scenes. I help manage our website, keep our customer service running smoothly, and also help with the planning and organizing of our daily tree care work. Whether it's quoting for a job, answering questions from clients, or working with our arborists to figure out the best approach for a complicated tree removal, my role is all about making sure everything runs like clockwork.
Even though my job can get busy and demanding, I always make time to enjoy the things that help me relax and recharge. In my spare time, I’m a big fan of nature walks and outdoor adventures—no surprise there, considering my work with trees! I also enjoy relaxing at home with a good book or a movie. Some evenings, I’ll just sit back and listen to music or watch a documentary about the natural world. Trees and forests have always fascinated me, both in real life and in stories.
One of the stories that has truly captured my imagination over the years is The Lord of the Rings. The rich world that J.R.R. Tolkien created—full of ancient forests, brave characters, and deep meaning—resonates with me more than almost anything else I’ve read or watched. From the mighty ents, who are literally walking, talking trees, to the beautiful and mysterious woods like Lothlórien, there’s something truly magical about the way nature is portrayed in that world.
Whenever I watch the films or flip through the books, I find myself transported to Middle-earth. I feel the thrill of adventure, the weight of responsibility, and the beauty of fellowship and friendship. The struggles and triumphs of characters like Frodo, Sam, Aragorn, and Gandalf stick with me in a powerful way. They remind me that even ordinary people (or hobbits) can make a huge difference in the world through courage and perseverance.
One of my favorite moments is when the Fellowship journeys through the forests of Fangorn and meets Treebeard. There’s something deeply comforting and wise about the ents—like they’ve seen it all, and yet they still care deeply about the world around them. That idea really speaks to me, especially as someone who works closely with trees and understands how important they are to the environment and to our communities.
What I love about stories like The Lord of the Rings is how they remind us of the wonder and mystery of the natural world. They make us stop and think about the things we often take for granted—like trees, forests, rivers, and mountains. These stories awaken a sense of awe and respect for the planet we live on, and they inspire us to protect it.
But it’s not just fantasy stories that inspire me. I also enjoy real-life stories about people who care deeply about nature—like conservationists, arborists, and environmental scientists. Their work helps preserve the world’s natural beauty and teaches us how to live more sustainably. In a way, my work at Wigan Tree Services feels connected to that same purpose. Every tree we trim or remove is done with care, knowledge, and respect for the environment.
At Wigan Tree Services, we believe tree care isn’t just about cutting down branches. It’s about understanding how trees grow, how they interact with their surroundings, and how they impact the people who live nearby. Whether we’re shaping a tree to improve its health or removing one that poses a risk to safety, our goal is always to do what’s best for both the tree and the property.
Our services include tree pruning, crown reduction, stump grinding, emergency tree removal, and hedge trimming, among others. We also provide tree surveys and reports for clients who need professional assessments for planning or insurance purposes. Every job we do is handled by experienced tree surgeons who are fully trained, certified, and passionate about their work.
Safety is a big part of what we do. Trees can be unpredictable, especially during storms or when they’re diseased or damaged. That’s why we take great care to assess each situation properly, use the right equipment, and follow all the necessary safety procedures. Our team works with precision and attention to detail, and we always aim to leave a site clean, tidy, and better than we found it.
Customer service is just as important to us as technical skill. We know that inviting someone onto your property to work on trees is a big decision, and we do everything we can to make that process smooth, respectful, and stress-free. From the first phone call to the final sweep-up, we want our clients to feel confident, informed, and satisfied.
If you’re curious about what we do, I recommend visiting our website. We’ve put a lot of effort into making it easy to navigate and full of useful information. You can read about our range of services, see photos of past projects, and get a sense of our team and our values. We also have a section with client testimonials, where you can hear directly from people who’ve used our services in the past.
We serve all areas of Wigan and the surrounding towns, including Leigh, Standish, Orrell, and Hindley. Whether you need help with a tree in your back garden, a full tree removal at a commercial property, or just some seasonal maintenance, we’re here in Wigan to help.
Outside of work, I continue to explore and enjoy the natural world however I can. Whether it’s a walk through Haigh Woodland Park, a day out in the Lake District, or just time spent in my own garden, I always feel more grounded and refreshed when I’m surrounded by trees. There’s something ancient and peaceful about them. They remind me to slow down, breathe deep, and appreciate the small wonders of life.
Being part of Wigan Tree Services means I get to combine my love for nature with my passion for helping people. Every day brings a new challenge, a new tree, a new landscape to care for. And that, to me, is incredibly fulfilling.
So if you’re looking for reliable, friendly, and professional tree services in Wigan, I invite you to get in touch with us. We’re here to provide expert advice, skilled service, and a genuine commitment to quality. Whether you’ve got a tree that needs trimming or one that needs removing, you can trust us to handle it with care, knowledge, and respect for both nature and your needs.
