Backstory

Name: Mayari (she/her)

House: Ravenclaw

Blood Status: Half-Blood

Wand: 13 inches, Elm wood with Unicorn hair core, hard flexibility

Patronus: Little Owl

I am a half-blood witch (on my father's side). My mother wanted me to finish Muggle school before coming here. I am glad to have the knowledge, but it is odd being so much older than the other first years. My father taught me to make a patronus to help combat how old I feel (at least I would have a leg up, he said). My patronus is a little owl.

I love the ocean, especially on nights when the moon is bright. I also love my pets, Pippin (a fluffy cat), Arrietty/Etty (a tabby cat), Ophelia (a Betta fish), and Beatrice (a ball python). I have a BS in Communication Disorders (speech pathology) and am almost finished with another BA in English/Creative Writing and Children's Literature. Regardless of whether I take a job in the Wizarding world or the Muggle world, I would like to be an author/editor. Maybe a librarian.

For Year 1 classes, I look forward to Astronomy and Charms the most.
