The International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy is no joke. Most muggles are wary of the power we wield and I have seen enough incidents with accidental magic, to prove it. The incident with my cousin has remained engraved in my brain forever.
I was sorted into Slytherin, which was a welcome change in my family because most of them are Ravenclaws. The Slytherin dorms was and will always be my home away from home. There was still an undercurrent of prejudice against us, but most of it had dispersed by the time I arrived at Hogwarts. It did not prove an obstacle for the amazing times that I had in the castle.
I was average at most subjects with a special affinity for Charms and Ancient Runes. But what many didn't know was that I slaved away in the library studying Legilimency and a little of Occlumency.
Despite my abysmal performance in my NEWTS (according to my family) I was recruited by the Invisibility Task Force and the rest is history. I mostly accompany Aurors on some missions now, but only after I underwent a rigorous training in DADA.
